Over the years, LähiTapiola's quality assurance Azure environment had been built with different tools at different times, and the results reflected that. Even small changes were slow to make reliably, the platform was getting harder to maintain, and costs were drifting outside the team's control. The challenge was not only technical. Test automation results stayed largely within the team, which made it hard to demonstrate the impact of the work to the rest of the organization.
LähiTapiola wanted to rebuild the Azure foundation for quality assurance and add shared tooling for monitoring the state of testing. One condition stayed firm throughout: the new setup had to be something the in-house team could own and maintain after the engagement ended.
